Kristina Casimiri's childhood was filled with love and lessons from her grandparents, who immigrated from Italy. While they left Italy to live the American Dream, their identities and values, rooted in the cultural history of their home country, is something they couldn't leave behind. She has so many special memories of her grandparents, cooking in the kitchen, telling stories on the patio, pouring wine on Christmas Eve, and laughing at the dinner table. Her grandparents instilled in her  the Italian values of family,  respect, and most importantly, food. Kristina was taught that meal time was sacred, and the only thing more sacred was the care one took in preparing a meal.
